The distance of the strips can be varied based on how wind exposed the building is and the calculated need for fastening density. The system is particularly favorable on roofs that are extra wind exposed, where otherwise with a standard overlap system it would have been necessary to install 1m wide sheets or even narrower. Large roof areas can be covered quickly with minimal welding work on the construction site itself using Protan prefabriccated sheets w/longitudinal secret strips. The sheets enable quick assembly as large units of the roof membrane are laid in one operation and this significantly reduces the welding work.
